Over the past year, the multifamily industry has faced its share of uncertainty with the lingering effects of the pandemic, supply chain and labor challenges, and economic headwinds. However, the industry continues to be resilient, putting its residents at the forefront. The 2022 Multifamily Executive Awards shine a spotlight on these efforts by recognizing the industry’s best-in-class projects and inspiring programs.
Out of nearly 250 nominations, the jurors selected 13 grand winners and 21 merit winners. In addition, our jurors selected The Schoolhouse District, the grand winner in the mixed-use category, as the Multifamily Project of the Year.
Located in Woodinville, Washington, the mixed-use community brings new life to an underutilized site. The team— developer MainStreet Property Group, architect GGLO, and builder GenCap Construction Corp.—worked to reuse buildings, including a 1930s-era schoolhouse, to enhance the downtown’s existing character. The development also delivers 278 market-rate apartments, a YMCA, a day care, and a variety of gathering and dining spaces.
