Adjacent to Michigan Stadium and near downtown Ann Arbor, the 167-unit Hoover + Greene consists of an entire city block complete with its own corner park element, an internal courtyard, and an expansive, elevated pool deck. Units range from studios to two-bedrooms and feature floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views. The apartments offer patio and balcony options, as well as walkout units.
Targeting young professionals, this resort-style community from developer REDICO offers residents spacious lounges, intimate sitting areas, meeting spaces, a modern fitness center, and entertainment spaces complete with billiard, foosball, and an adjacent bar and kitchen area. An interior courtyard is as luxe as the indoor amenity spaces, featuring Indonesian decorative stones and a grand water feature. The elevated pool deck is equipped with outdoor barbecue and fire pit areas and views of the Big House.
Designed by Myefski Architects, the community embraces its urban context. The curb appeal is derived from a distinct composition of elements that align with the scale of surrounding structures. The rhythm of the façade volumes is reinforced using contrasting colors and contemporary, durable materials. The massing solution strategically opens the building to the liveliest parts of neighborhood via the elevated pool deck.
Located within the city of Ann Arbor, this project also was expected to meet stringent climate and energy goals since the city has committed to the A2Zero carbon-neutrality plan, which calls for eliminating 2.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions annually. To take steps to combat greenhouse gas emissions and reduce dependence on fossil fuel, most of the available roof area at Hoover + Greene is covered with a 400-plus-panel photovoltaic solar array. The energy offset of this almost-one-city-block array is approximately 15%. Meanwhile, the underground parking garage is equipped with several EV charging spaces, which reflect the eco-conscious needs of residents.
