Denver-based Aimco, a diversified real estate investment company, has been giving back to its employees and local communities for 17 years through Aimco Cares. The program encourages team members to be involved with community service, with the company allowing 15 paid hours each year to apply to volunteer activities of employees’ choosing.
In 2021 alone, the Aimco Cares Charity Golf Classic raised $412,000 to benefit veterans and provide scholarships for students in affordable housing. Since the program’s launch in 2006, the program also has provided $1.3 million in scholarship funding to over 630 children of Aimco team members.

Other highlights from the past year include:
- Volunteering for Soldiers’ Angels to hand out groceries and turkeys to veterans during a mobile food distribution event;
- Collecting over $1,000 worth of basic hygiene items for The Gathering Place in Denver to support women and children in need;
- Sponsoring the Jane-A-Thon, a Colorado ski and snowboarding fundraiser to support Invest in Kids; and
- Making a $5,000 donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
