MRI Software has expanded its property management solutions for the multifamily industry with the acquisition of ApartmentData.com, a Houston-based provider of market research and data solutions for owners and managers.

The acquisition will deepen MRI Software’s reach in the South and will enhance its MRI Living suite, which provides solutions for property owners and managers to easily manage the residential life cycle, from lead to lease to renewal, with AI-first tools.

Founded in 1986, ApartmentData.com offers solutions to help owners and managers increase property values by optimizing pricing and occupancy. It provides comprehensive information on professional managed communities with over 50 units, including pricing, concessions, occupancy, amenities, and policies at the floor plan level. The company serves 13 of the fastest-growing metros—Arizona markets Phoenix and Tucson; Atlanta; Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; Florida markets Jackson, Orlando, and Tampa; Nashville, Tennessee; and Texas markets Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

Competition RADAR, the company’s flagship solution, leverages proprietary algorithms to identify competitive trends, provide pricing recommendations, and calculate property- and portfolio-level impacts.

“Over the last several years, we’ve significantly expanded our MRI Living portfolio to provide tools that make our clients’ lives easier and help them take better care of their residents, businesses, and themselves,” said John Ensign, MRI’s president and executive managing director, North America. “Data is critical to helping us deliver on those objectives. With a smart data solution like Competition RADAR, we can provide clients with actionable data and market insights so they can navigate the future with confidence and gain a competitive edge.”

John Severance, founder and chief technology officer of ApartmentData.com, added that he is looking forward to “the next chapter.” “By leveraging the resources of MRI, we can more easily address the growing demands for insights at a time when most multifamily organizations need to drive occupancy and maximize revenue,” he said.

MRI Software solutions support more than 20 million residential units around the world, according to the company. It also serves over 82% of the companies on the National Multifamily Housing Council’s top 50 apartment managers list.
