The Watch on Shem Creek, located in Mount Pleasant, S.C., and jointly owned and operated by KETTLER and The Stillman Group, has been named Property of the Year by the Charleston Apartment Association.
The community won the top prize for properties that are between 21 and 30 years old. The apartment group bases its annual award on a community’s financial performance, occupancy rate, and resident satisfaction, among other factors.
“We are thrilled with the award,” said David Ohlrich, president of KETTLER Property Management, in a statement. “Being named Property of the Year speaks volumes about the team overseeing this vibrant community. They're welcoming, caring, and the results speak for themselves.”
KETTLER and Stillman acquired The Watch on Shem Creek, previously known as the Paces Watch Apartments, in 2016. The development offers 232 one- and two-bedroom units with modern finishes and appliances, along with a tennis court, swimming pool, walking trails, and a 24-hour fitness center. It is also located next to Shem Creek, and residents can access a private dock on the property. “It's a wonderful place to live,” Ohlrich said. “It's just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston and some of the finest beaches in the world. It's the epitome of comfortable Southern living.”
KETTLER and Stillman's partnership owns and operates over 1,000 units in the Charleston metropolitan area, including 368 units added in its acquisition of the Palmetto Grove apartments last year.
“When we acquired Paces Watch, I envisioned turning it into the premier community in Charleston,” added Abbott Stillman, chairman of The Stillman Group, in the statement. “I'm delighted our collective vision has been realized.”
