As we get closer and closer to the midway point of the year, apartment properties' online reputation, and how resident opinions continue to influence it, remains center stage in the multifamily industry. So it's a good time to check: Are you moving the needle with your residents? To find out, take a look at this month's ORA™ Power Rankings from J Turner Research. The exclusive list features the top 50 properties for online reputation in May.

May’s star? Everton at Bellmar, in Dallas, managed by Knightvest Property Management. With an ORA™ score of 96, Everton bags the coveted No. 1 position for the property with the best online reputation in the country this month. (The national average ORA™ score is 56.)

At No. 2 is Modera 44 in Morristown, N.J., managed by Mill Creek Residential Trust. Modera, which also scored 96 for May, is ranked second based on that number as well as the number of reviews it received.

Camden Plaza, located in Houston and managed by Camden Property Trust, ranks third this month, with an ORA™ score of 95. Texas as a whole has four properties in the top 50 rankings for May.

The East Coast has the most properties in the top 50 this month, with more than half of the total. Of those, Virginia has seven properties, and Pennsylvania and Maryland have four each. On the West Coast, California has the most properties (four) in this latest ranking.

Among management companies, Bozzuto is the most impressive this month, with eight of its properties making it to May's top 50. Next is Ram Partners, with three of its properties included in the list.

Methodology
In an ongoing series of ORA™ Power Rankings, MFE periodically publishes a new ranking of apartment properties and management companies based on different parameters. The ORA™ Power Rankings is powered by J Turner Research. To arrive at the aggregated score, J Turner Research tracks and analyzes the online reputation of more than 58,000 apartment properties across all review websites on a monthly basis. To overcome the challenge of multiple ratings scales, the company has devised a statistical model to establish a single score for each property. This score, based on a 0 to 100 scale, serves as a benchmark to compare and contrast individual properties and portfolios nationally.
