Move For Hunger, a food rescue nonprofit, is celebrating its 30 millionth meal delivered to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity since the company’s inception in 2009.

Founded on the simple premise of donating your leftovers when you move, Move For Hunger has seen record-breaking growth over the last few years—expanding from one family moving company to a network of over 1,200 transportation partners and 2,500 multifamily apartment communities.

With the launch of its fresh food program in 2021, Move For Hunger has been able to reach even more families in need—donating 2.1 million pounds of fresh food in 2023 alone.

“I am so proud to see our impact reach even more people year after year,” Adam Lowy, founder and executive director of Move For Hunger, says. “It’s awe-inspiring to see communities come together to fight one single cause—hunger.”

In the wake of cuts to food assistance programs, inflated grocery prices, and rising levels of food insecurity, the company says it’s working even harder to provide meals to those who need it the most.
