Located on the original Pabst Brewing Co. campus, Vim + Vigor brings micro, studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom modern apartments to historic downtown Milwaukee. Targeting residents who are interested in embracing the city’s beer culture, Indianapolis-based developer Milhaus wanted to provide a one-of-a-kind amenity that “paid homage to the district’s roots and developed a new generation of beer fans.”

The property’s homebrew studio sits in the center of the amenity space and is designed to be a fully functioning laboratory with all the tools and space residents will need to brew homemade beer. The 500-square-foot studio is complete with a commercial range, starter materials to get brews going, two workstations, and space to store 100 gallons of beer at various stages of production.

Vim + Vigor partnered with Northern Brewer, a local homebrew supply shop, to establish the foundational elements of homebrewed beer and provide classes for building residents to get started on their own brews.

In the process, both Milhaus and Vim + Vigor personnel were able to learn much more about homebrewing, as well as the history of the Brewery District, making them strong partners to the community’s residents and the city of Milwaukee.
