What are your top tips for designing an apartment clubhouse?
Today's Gen Y renters are celeb-savvy, self-indulgent, and expect the best—and, as ‘‘ a result, they want clubhouses with ‘star quality' and resort-style amenities. By designing a luxurious clubhouse, developers can beat out the competition, raise the price on units, and keep renters satisfied year after year. Here are a few tips:
Stand out from the competition with a unique design. Avoid common and over-used themes like the Mediterranean look. Instead, go for a more original style, like Venetian, Tuscan, Provençal, or rustic German.
Amenitize to death. Include as many elements as possible: catering kitchen, wireless Internet lounge, exercise room, social room, pool/spa, and game room.
Create that resort feeling with high ceilings, luxuriant lines, clerestories, tropical landscaping, and freeform pools.
Make it event-friendly. The floor plan should be able to accommodate future events like wine tastings, cooking classes, and birthday parties.
