With 2018 halfway done, we revisited January’s Elite 1% ORA Power Ranking to help determine the top 50 properties by online reputation for July.
J Turner Research has expanded its footprint by 7,000 properties since January and now tracks the online reputation of 78,000 properties across 20-plus review sites and ILSs.
To be eligible for this ranking, a property had to register a minimum ORA (Online Reputation Assessment) score of 95. For properties with the same ORA score, the property with more reviews ranks higher.
The Kensington (Boston), managed by Bozzuto, is steadfast in its hold of the No. 1 spot for the middle of the year. The Courts of Devon (Gaithersburg, Md.), also managed by Bozzuto, has usurped Park Place One Apartments (Philadelphia), managed by Fidelity Management, to take the second position for July. Park Place One now ranks third on the list. Each of these properties has an ORA score of 98, well above the national average of 61.03 and also better than the average score of July’s Top 50 properties as a whole, 96.14.
The companies that manage the most top 50 properties mid-year are Bozzuto (five), Greystar and Nu Style Development (four each), and Cardinal Group and RAM Partners (two each). Of the top 50 properties, two are privately managed.
The states with the highest share of Top 50 properties are California (11), Florida and Nebraska (four each), and Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington (three each).
About the ORA Power Rankings
Developed by J Turner Research, the ORA Power Rankings are a monthly, independent ranking of apartment properties and management companies based on various parameters. A property or management company isn't required to be a J Turner Research client to qualify for this ranking, which is published by J Turner’s media partner Multifamily Executive. To learn more, or to find your ORA score, visit www.jturnerresearch.com/about/what-is-ora-score.
The ORA score is an aggregate compilation of a property’s ratings across 20-plus review sites and ILSs. Each month, J Turner Research monitors the online ratings of more than 78,000 properties nationwide. Using a statistical model, a single score based on a scale of 0 to 100 is assigned to each property. This score serves as a benchmark to compare and contrast a company’s individual properties and portfolios nationally, regionally, and against the competition.
