When it comes to multifamily social media, Twitter falls far behind Instagram on follower and post engagement.
In an effort to refine its social media services, Go To My Apartment (GTMA) has examined its social media engagement data, which catalogs the number of interactions each of the agency’s social media posts receives, to determine which social media platforms are the most effective for multifamily marketing. For Twitter, this engagement can include likes, retweets, mentions, replies, and follows.
According to GTMA's findings, the average number of engagements per follower on apartment Twitter accounts is 0.8, and the average engagement per tweet is 1.5. However, the agency’s engagements per follower on Instagram is 2.47, or 208% higher than Twitter, and its number of engagements per Instagram post is 23.77, or 1,486% higher than Twitter.
Engagement is the holy grail of social media metrics because it shows us what content is resonating with our audiences and what content isn’t ... We’ve found Instagram to be a valuable tool with an ever-widening audience of engaged users … and we feel our clients will benefit a great deal from increased reach and social engagement.
