The El Cadiz Apartments in Hollywood inspired several of our firm's projects. Finished in 1936, it was the last major Spanish Revival courtyard apartment built in the city. Due to the Depression and changing aesthetics, the building was less ornate than its predecessors. Its complex organization around multiple linked courtyards contributed to a village-like environment. El Cadiz was successful in the past [and] provides direction for our future.
