A new design concept out of the Netherlands fuses residences and tourism with sustainability.
The Dutch Windwheel consists of two glass rings that house hotel rooms, apartments, restaurants and shops while wind turbine tubes are strung through the center of the structure.
The panoramadeck will offer unprecedented views of Rotterdam's cityscape and port.
Part of the facade on the outer ring will be made with 'smart walls' that project a layer of visual information about the city as visitors move through the rotating cabins.
Since the wind turbine tubes will be spaced apart, the center of the structure will be transparent, allowing views to emanate through.
