According to Curbed Atlanta, Chicago-based developer CA Ventures has filed for permits to build a 33-story mixed-use tower including apartments, at the intersection of Peachtree and Eighth Street. There are currently two low-rise restaurant buildings occupying the site which would probably have to relocate.
Paperwork filed last week seeks to get the ball rolling on land development at the property and demolish the structures housing eateries Bezoria and Noodle, the Atlanta Business Chronicle first reported. Bezoria’s owner told What Now Atlanta he’s been kept in the dark about development plans, but that both restaurants would likely have to relocate—unable to wait out construction phases and reopen at 903 Peachtree’s base.
Elsewhere in Midtown, CA Ventures has pitched a 27-story building for 699 Spring Street—near the Varsity and just south of the Coda project—that would be geared toward Georgia Tech students.
With a planned 715 student beds, that development would join a high-rise wave of student-focused projects in the vicinity, including The Standard next door and 28-story The Mark tower that’s replacing a Dominos up the street. The company is also planning a 22-story apartment tower in Buckhead Village.
