Tune in to Multifamily Executive’s annual conference—virtually—this week to gain insight into the challenges the industry faces in the present and the future as well as find best practices to strengthen your businesses.

The conference—complimentary for multifamily industry property executives, developers, architects, builders, and other real estate executives—will feature a different track Wednesday through Friday: leadership, technology, and development. A bonus MFE Women of Influence Virtual Happy Hour is scheduled for 4 to 5 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday.

Tuesday: Women of Influence Virtual Happy Hour


This second annual women’s event, a partnership between MFE, Apartments.com, and Yardi, will feature four multifamily female powerhouses: Jamie Gorski, chief marketing officer and senior vice president at GID/Windsor; Pat Hutchison, president at Mission Rock Residential; Tracy Bowers, executive managing director at RangeWater; and Stephanie Williams, president of Bozzuto Management Co. These leaders will discuss navigating the trials of 2020, company culture, attracting and retaining female talent, and big-impact leadership traits.

Wednesday: Leadership


Camden chairman and CEO Ric Campo, Avanath Capital Management chairman and CEO Daryl Carter, GID president and COO Greg Bates, and Pinnacle president and CEO Rick Graf will reveal how they are dealing with today’s market and preparing for the future in the annual executive power panel. Hear from Marcus & Millichap’s John Sebree and JLL’s Ryan Severino, who will provide their latest economic outlook. In addition, multifamily leaders will tackle today’s challenges surrounding industry talent.

Thursday: Technology


Attendees can dive into the latest technology trends that are advancing the ease and efficiency of the design, development, and operations of multifamily communities. Kimberly Byrum, managing principal—multifamily, advisory, at Meyers Research, and Zillow economist Joshua Clark will provide a sneak peek at the top markets for building multifamily housing today, including risks and challenges associated with each market.

Plus, Andrew Ackerman, managing director of UrbanTech and Dream It Ventures, will take attendees through three pitches from multifamily innovators, with the audience voting for the most compelling innovation.

Friday: Development


National Multifamily Housing Council president Doug Bibby will discuss the nation’s changing policy environment and other pressing issues affecting the multifamily industry today.
Leading developers Rosie Cooper, vice president and development manager at JPI, James Schloemer, CEO of Continental Properties, and Samuel Simone, senior managing director at Mill Creek Residential Trust, will take an in-depth look into how they are learning to move faster with fewer resources, and in some cases, with more challenges. Making modular work, meeting net-zero energy goals, reframing the rent control discussion for opportunity, and addressing NIMBYism with a thoughtful message and cause will round out the day’s coverage.
