President Obama released his final budget proposal for the 2017 fiscal year in February.
The president's budget is traditionally used to lay out the administration’s priorities in the coming year. Although the president’s budget, as a whole, has little chance of being enacted, it’s possible several of its individual provisions could be enacted as part of other legislative proposals. For this reason, the National Multifamily Housing Council and the National Apartment Association are paying close attention to the budget details and process.
