A new luxury residential tower near midtown Manhattan takes multifamily design to new heights--on eight different sides.
Developed by J.D. Carlisle Developement Corp., One Sixty Madison is located in the heart of the NoMad neighborhood, at the nexus of Chelsea, Gramercy and Midtown. Now leasing, the 45-story building encompasses 319 rental residences comprising of studios, one and two bedroom homes.
Designed by SLCE Architects, One Sixty Madison’s signature octagon shape - the only of its kind in Manhattan - coupled with its unique 45 degree angle to the Avenue, results in expansive, game-changing views of the city that do not align with the grid, according to a press release.
“This first-ever, octagonal design breaks with the typical New York City street wall,” says Evan Stein, president of J.D. Carlisle. “The brilliant way the architects placed the footprint of the tower at an angle lets our tenants experience Manhattan’s skyline from a unique perspective with living rooms facing northeast at the Chrysler building and northwest towards the Empire. These vantage points are unlike anything else out there.”
Residences are bathed in natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows, many 12 feet high, accented by white oak floors, with thoughtful details emphasized throughout. Thanks to the building’s octagon shape, corner residences feature triple panoramic view exposures, as opposed to the more standard double exposure.
One Sixty Madison offers over 20,000 square feet of amenity spaces, featuring the Three Sixty Lounge atop the building, which features an indoor fireplace, and two expansive rooftop terraces with views of the city’s greatest landmarks. Residents also have access to the nearly 14,000 square feet Park Lounge, which is surrounded by the building’s elevated and landscaped private park, a state-of-the-art fitness center overlooking the private park, valet and concierge services, bicycle storage and a fully attended lobby.
