New Jersey developer Claremont Development recently marked the grand opening of The James, a new luxury rental community in Park Ridge, New Jersey. The building is named for James Gandolfini, a Park Ridge native best known for his role as Tony Soprano on “The Sopranos.” Over two dozen of the late actor’s friends and family, including son and actor Michael, were present at the grand opening.

The completion of The James marks the end of a 10-year plan to redevelop a tract of underutilized property in downtown Park Ridge. “The James reflects our commitment to the borough of Park Ridge and our core philosophy of enhancing the host communities in which we develop,” says Richard Sciaretta, managing partner of Claremont Development. “We shared a collective vision with Mayor Misciagna and local officials on how to unlock the intrinsic value of this property by creating a new modern lifestyle option that is appealing to both existing and new residents. We believe The James realizes that vision, and we’re delighted with how quickly it has connected with residents.”

The James is located in the middle of the downtown area, surrounded by parks, shops, and restaurants. The five-story building offers 240 studio, one-, and two-bedroom units, 50% of which are already leased, 17,600 square feet of street-level retail space, as well as a public plaza area. Rents at The James start at $1,965, with limited-time opening incentives of up to half a month free on a 12-month lease or one-month free on a 24-month lease, according to property manager Bozzuto.

The units offer 9-foot ceilings, plank flooring, modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, espresso cabinetry, and full-height tiled backsplashes. Bathrooms feature gray tiled floors, quartz countertops, and full-height tiled wet walls. All units feature in-unit laundry, and private outdoor balconies, terraces, and/or dens are available in select plans.

Indoor amenities include multiple entertainment lounges, a catering kitchen, a co-working lounge with private offices, a fitness center, and a yoga studio. Outside, residents can make use of a resort-style pool, barbecue and dining areas, lounge areas, and a turf lawn. Transit options to Manhattan include NJ Transit, COASH USA commuter bus service, and the Garden State Parkway and Palisades Parkway.
