The system can display colorful images on plasma screens or project them onto nearly any type of surface, even a very large one. Q: What new or unusual amenities are properties offering to entice residents?

A: Apartments.com recently took an informal survey of its on-staff professional photographers, who are the people who visit and photograph the rental properties listed on our online listing site. While they saw some definite trends, they also reported that properties continue to experiment with unique amenities. On the trend front, wine rooms, which are very popular on the West Coast, are now popping up in areas as remote from a vineyard as Houston. Spas offering massage and other salon services are becoming more common, as are yoga and spinning rooms, and even community theaters. In the area of unusual and unexpected amenities, some properties are handing out “breakfast bags” with dry cereal bars and fruit to residents.
