According to Michigan Live, city officials in Ann Arbor Michigan are reviewing proposals for the addition of several high-rise, mixed-use projects. Some of the plans are currently under staff review and may go before the Planning Commission this summer. Landmark Properties, based in Georgia is proposing a $40 million, 238-unit building called The Standard which would also include over 8,000 square feet of commercial space.

The northern portion of the building would rise 10 stories, and the south portion five stories, including a mix of studios and apartments with one to four bedrooms. The developer wants to break ground later this summer and finish the project by June 2021.

Howard Frehsee of Bloomfield Hills-based Cerca Trova LLC is teaming up with Chicago developer CA Ventures to propose a 19-story high-rise to replace a row of rental houses on Washington Street behind the Michigan Theater. The plans show 241 apartments, including 19 dedicated affordable housing units for low-income tenants, plus 6,000 square feet of commercial space. Frehsee has said the building would be marketed to a mix of University of Michigan students and working professionals.

Also included in the plans are 202 bicycle parking spaces and 141 automobile parking spaces, 127 of which would be onsite and 14 of which would be leased from the city.Construction costs are estimated at $67 million with the development proposed to break ground in spring 2020 and finish by August 2022.
