Milhaus has expanded its investment in Cincinnati with Poste, a mixed-use, Class A community projected to open in the Walnut Hills neighborhood in 2019.

The 124-unit property is named for Walnut Hills’ position as a post on the Underground Railroad in the 1800s. Milhaus intends for the development to unite residents across diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, much the way Walnut Hills provided safety for those passing through two centuries ago.

“At Milhaus, we focus on transforming neighborhoods and enhancing the lives of all residents along the way, and we’re looking forward to doing so with Poste as part of the redevelopment of the burgeoning Walnut Hills neighborhood,” says Jake Dietrich, director of development at Milhaus. “Given Cincinnati has seen steady population growth in recent years due to the booming job market, there’s a strong demand for high-quality rental communities in Walnut Hills and across the city.”

Poste will comprise 18 studio units, 73 one-bedrooms, 28 two-bedrooms, and five two-bedroom townhomes, along with a resident lounge, urban workshop, bike storage, and 4,345 square feet of commercial space. The units are pet-friendly and feature 9-foot ceilings, in-unit laundry, quartz countertops, solid-wood cabinets, and wood-style flooring.

Milhaus recently made a $245 million capital investment in development growth, which will fuel its new Class A product development across select secondary markets, including Cincinnati; Indianapolis; Kansas City, Mo.; and Louisville, Ky. The developer aims to grow its portfolio to 20,000 units across 10 markets by 2020.
