On 37 wooded acres in Antioch, Tennessee, Alta Farms at Cane Ridge is a contemporary farmhouse-style multifamily community with two- and three-story buildings comprised of 330 units. Offering a variety of floor plans from one-bedroom apartments to two-bedroom carriage homes, the community was developed and built by Wood Partners with architect Dynamik Design.

“Set among the trails and trees with distant views of rural farms and rolling hills, Alta Farms at Cane Ridge is a modern, new community in a naturally serene setting. Located within walking distance of Century Farms, including the new Tanger Outlets Mall, we pride ourselves on combining the charm of the countryside with the conveniences of city life,” says Andrew Steffens, Wood Partners managing director.

“This is a home where residents truly feel connected to one another as neighbors, with plenty of programming and amenities that encourage social interaction. Our natural surroundings bring inspiration, tranquility, and an opportunity for residents to unplug and tap into their creativity. We’ve updated the farmhouse aesthetic with modern comforts, thoughtful design, and resort-quality amenities, creating an outstanding community in the Greater Nashville area.”

A communal kitchen with an inviting island is one of the many features of the community’s clubhouse, which also offers games, co-working spaces, and a fitness center. Outside, a resort-style pool overlooks a wooded lake, while other outdoor amenities—a yoga deck; a community garden; a dog park; green spaces with picnic pergolas; grills and fire pits; and an array of seating from hammocks and bed swings to rocking chairs— dot the property. A rustic party house was also built for hosting grand events.

Prior to development, Wood Partners identified purple martins as residents of the site and accommodated accordingly with birdhouses. Open spaces and bio-ponds serve as integral parts of the community’s stormwater management and flood mitigation strategies while providing picturesque amenities.

Seeing the need for affordable housing options for dedicated educators in the area, Wood Partners set aside three units specifically for teachers. Through collaboration with Ridgeview Elementary, the firm implemented a program to provide teachers access to the units at a preferred employer price—not only addressing the immediate housing needs of educators but also fostering a deep sense of community appreciation and support.
