In St. Louis, developer LuxLiving—with Big Sur Construction—set out to design one of its local developments to “be unlike anything in the Midwest.” Located in the heart of the Soulard neighborhood, SoHo Apartments provides 322 units and over 20,000 square feet of “mind-blowing” amenity space that ties in with the music history of the area, from its interior design selections to the property’s sound lounge.

According to the team, the sound lounge cultivates a space for music and fun events. Included is a performance stage, a massive projector screen, and a state-of-the-art sound system. With the performance stage, residents have access to provided instruments and equipment, such as a grand piano, an electric piano, a full drum set, guitars, and microphones. The amenity not only can be used for events such as live concerts but also karaoke nights or sports showings.

As the grand winner for best amenity in the 2023 MFE Awards, the community offerings and unique details don’t stop there. SoHo’s indoor basketball court sports a custom sneaker wall and mural. A double-lane bowling alley includes an interactive projector screen and arcade games. The fitness center has a full-size boxing ring and float pods for recovery. And that’s just naming a handful. It truly does deliver “an over-the-top resident experience that all guests will never want to leave.”

“We are immensely proud to have this award in the LuxLiving portfolio. It's a testament to the countless late-night meetings, brainstorming sessions, and the relentless dedication of our in-house development team," says LuxLiving's Vic Alston. "With Soho, we didn't just follow the industry standard—we elevated it, introducing amenities and features the Midwest had never witnessed before. At LuxLiving, we believe in more than just constructing buildings; we're about pioneering innovation and turning dreams into reality.”
