American Landmark Apartments, a multifamily owner and operator based in Tampa, Florida, strives to create healthy, equitable, and sustainable environments for its residents and the communities it serves.
As part of that mission, the firm has invested in programs and partnered with a range of organizations, including the Millionaire Mastermind Academy, a nonprofit that aims to end poverty through entrepreneurship for minority women worldwide.
The partnership between the two firms was launched in 2020, with the goal of helping minority women entrepreneurs develop career skills in real estate and property management while further diversifying the commercial real estate industry. Then, in 2021, they collaborated on the Real Estate Accelerator Program, a 12-week initiative that took place at American Landmark’s headquarters.
Through American Landmark’s financial and content support, nine women participated in the real estate program, which included virtual education and two in-person weekend intensives that covered a range of topics from developing a professional mindset and marketing to property management and leasing. The next real estate accelerator program between the two partners is expected to begin next year, pending funding.

In addition to the accelerator program, nearly 2,000 participants have been exposed to job opportunities and technical training in the commercial real estate industry thanks to American Landmark’s participation in monthly economic empowerment programs, including a large workshop in Miami in June 2022 as well as one in Scottsdale, Arizona, in April that was co-sponsored by the Black Chamber of Arizona.
“Although still early in our partnership, we believe that the Millionaire Mastermind Academy is helping increase our access to a more diverse talent pipeline,” according to American Landmark leaders. “America Landmark took an important step toward tracking diversity and equity initiatives when we assessed the gender and self-identified minority composition of our team members for the first time in 2021.”
