It’s a good time to be a multifamily developer. The market is strong—development continues to ramp up, and rent prices are at an all-time high—even amid economic concerns.
The multifamily developers, designers, and architects shaping the market are responding with projects that are elevated to a higher standard than before, an effort that was evident in this year’s Multifamily Executive Awards submissions.
Our awards competition is fierce each year, but this year our judges were more selective than ever, choosing entries that exemplify what an exceptional project looks like. From almost 450 entries, we selected 28 developments, amenities, and programs—17 Grand and 11 Merit winners—that showcase creativity, thoughtfulness, inventiveness, and outstanding design in our industry.
MFE’s editors also chose an overall outstanding community from among the winners as the 2018 Editors’ Choice recipient, honoring a project that went above and beyond to blend elements across many categories—mixed-use, affordability, adaptive reuse, to name a few—with grand design, an emphasis on resident well-being, the arts, and community outreach to create one seamless, rich community.
In the following awards, we honor smart executives, sustainable practices, innovative construction solutions, imaginative renovations, remarkable architecture, and preservation of affordability that make our 2018 MFE Awards winners stand out as projects that help us reimagine an exciting, life-altering future for multifamily community design, investment, development and management.
