The 2015 MFE Awards shine a spotlight on a gold rush of thoughtful, compelling communities being developed during the sunniest side of this market cycle.
And when we say gold rush, we really mean it: This year, more than 300 nominations came our way for fewer than 20 categories, and that’s a very tough ratio for judges and nominees alike.
Given the quantity—and especially the quality—of the submissions, what separated the winners from the rest of the pack were often merely subtle distinctions in form and function, stories that were just a little more compelling than the others, a detail or two that an untrained eye might gloss over.
In short, with all the amazing work being done today, it’s an agonizing process to highlight only a couple of submissions in each category. So while the awards provide a snapshot of excellence, they also reflect just the tip of an enormous iceberg—the cream of a historic bumper crop.
For all those who didn’t win this year, we thank you for giving us the privilege of looking at your projects. Our sincere hope is that, this time next year, you can make our job as judges even more difficult than it was this year.
