Given the changes anticipated to multifamily living and amenities in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Townhouse on the Park community in Long Island City, Queens, has equipped its rental townhomes with a suite of “COVID-era amenities,” among other upgraded home features.
According to the property’s brokerage, Modern Spaces, Long Island City saw a 26% rise in unit rentals quarter over quarter in Q2 2020. Given that 90% of New York City’s office workers are still working remotely, the community’s features and amenities are targeted toward city dwellers looking for more space.
Developed by GDC Properties and designed by Newman Design, with interiors by Peggy Leung Design, the units themselves are more than twice the size of the average NYC apartment, at a range of 1,583 to 2,288 square feet in size. Each one includes its own private outdoor space, with either a private garden or rooftop balcony depending on the unit.
On the ground floor, the townhomes feature private entrances, private backyard patios with access to the community’s common courtyard, and a third bedroom flex space that may be used as an office space or a home gym. Each unit includes stainless steel Whirlpool washers and dryers, a personal MIRROR home gym system, and “bonus” rooms including rooftop loft spaces and finished, windowed basements with half baths.
Property features include landscaped front and rear yards, as well as a community fitness center and courtyard. Rents at Townhouse on the Park start at $6,600 per month for a three-bedroom, three-bath triplex unit.
