Located along the Passaic River waterfront in Harrison, New Jersey, Dey & Bergen is a new 242-unit multifamily development taking advantage of its location near a PATH station that makes for an easy 20-minute commute to Manhattan. To stand out from other rental options in the area, developer BNE Real Estate Group partnered with designer Mary Cook Associates (MCA) to create an interiors concept that reflects Madison Avenue in the 1950s and 1960s.

One of the development’s most notable amenities that recalls the time period is its speakeasy lounge. Visible from the property’s most active corner, the lounge is anchored by a feature bar with rich walnut tones, metallic accents, and a number of warm, dimmable lighting elements. Deep lounge seating combined with intimate two-top dining tables and linear communal tables allow for conversational activities while also supporting food- and beverage-focused events.

In addition to the bar details, the lounge features a 1964 Austin-Healey “Bugeye” Sprite. Centered in the space, the vintage car not only continues the midcentury Manhattan aesthetic but also serves as a unique conversation piece and vibrant backdrop. In fact, it has become a popular “Instagram moment” among residents, reports MCA.
