The recently completed Cortland Vesta in Birmingham, Alabama, is achieving a number of firsts. It marks Cortland’s first high-rise development as well as the city’s first luxury high-rise in more than three decades.

Named after the goddess of the hearth and home, Cortland Vesta stands 17 stories tall and includes 318 one- and two-bedroom apartments. It provides views of Birmingham’s skyline and access to Five Points South, a historic and iconic neighborhood.

The development was made possible through a joint venture partnership between Atlanta-based Cortland and Harbert Realty Services, a full-service commercial real estate firm based in Birmingham.

The multifamily community provides a personalized approach to resident care and features hospitality-inspired amenities, such as 24/7 fitness and wellness options with a rock-climbing wall; a bike share program and on-site bike repair station; a bark park; and indoor/outdoor lounge spaces, including a rooftop bar and kitchen space for entertaining with a view.

“This project has been wonderful to be a part of, considering its ideal location in the Five Points South neighborhood,” said Chris Fletcher, director of development at Cortland. “Cortland Vesta offers residents an upscale living hub with direct access to a thriving urban district—including the Five Points South Circle area with dining and shopping options and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The community has welcomed us with open arms, and we look forward to a flourishing relationship.”

Cortland, a vertically integrated multifamily real estate investment, development, and management company, manages or is invested in, directly or indirectly, more than 185 communities with more than 65,000 homes.
