Related Midwest has announced the name and detailed design of The Row Fulton Market, a 43-story, 300-unit residential high-rise under construction in Chicago’s historic Fulton Market District. Scheduled to welcome its first residents in June, the building will offer a mix of convertible, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, including six penthouses, all ranging in size from 617 to 1,929 square feet.

“The Row represents the one-of-a-kind neighborhood in which it is located, delivering aspirational real estate to Chicagoans who want to immerse themselves in the energy and creativity that have put Fulton Market on the map both nationally and globally,” says Curt Bailey, president of Related Midwest. “In anchoring the new epicenter of downtown, The Row gives residents a front-row seat to the area’s continued transformation.”

Unit interiors feature 9-foot-6-inch ceilings; expansive windows; wide-plank flooring; ecobee smart thermostats; roller shades; full-size washers and dryers; high-end kitchens with quartz countertops and backsplashes; spacious storage; and Kohler fixtures and faucets. On floors 42 and 43 are penthouses with 12-foot ceilings, private terraces, customized closets, and chef-inspired eat-in kitchens. Interiors were created by March and White Design.

Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, the tower is set back from a five-story podium concealing parking with residences. The podium apartments and first-level retail space help to blend The Row's footing with adjacent buildings and also host outdoor amenities atop including a recreational deck, a lap pool, grilling kitchens under pergolas, dedicated dining and seating, green space with hammocks, and two fire pits.

“For the design of The Row, we wanted to reinterpret recognizable industrial motifs that relate to Chicago’s larger context while seamlessly responding to the historic texture and scale of the beloved Fulton Market neighborhood,” says Morris Adjmi, FAIA, founder and principal of Morris Adjmi Architects. “Preserving the pedestrian experience along Randolph and Peoria streets was extremely important.”

The Row is part of Related’s Reserve Collection, which features the work of celebrated architects and interior designers. Building amenities will also include a fitness club, a yoga studio, a children’s play suite, a reservable entertainment suite with a terrace, co-working and lounge spaces, and private conference areas. Residents will have access to a lobby with a 24-hour concierge and door attendant, 146 parking spaces, 12 electric vehicle-charging stations, and additional services ranging from housekeeping to day care services for pets.

Under recently passed Illinois legislation, The Row is one of Chicago’s first 80/20 buildings and will set aside 20% of residences, or 60 apartments, for affordable housing. In conjunction with its contracting division, LR Contracting Co., Related Midwest is partnering with BOWA Construction to build The Row.
