A new lifestyle district is under construction in Jersey City, New Jersey. With a dynamic mix of multifamily, retail, and community spaces, West Side Square will span nearly 800,000 square feet and become a destination for creativity and connection in the city's Marion neighborhood.

Reflective of Jersey City’s industrial heritage, the pedestrian-friendly space will feature cobblestone walkways, open-air markets, and an arts and music scene for a true cultural destination. The district is being developed through a collaborative partnership between Lanterra Developments, Westdale Properties, Lantree Developments, and Altree Developments.

West Side Square will include two multifamily buildings, The Residences at WSS and The Factory at WSS, with a total of 834 units, 16,275 square feet of combined retail space, and a vibrant outdoor piazza.

The Residences at WSS will include 477 units, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments with 480 square feet to over 1,500 square feet.

Residents will have access to an expansive rooftop retreat with a pool, lounge spaces, and an outdoor screening experience. Amenities will also include a fitness center; a yoga room; a podcast room; pet-friendly spaces including a dog run; bike storage; guest suites; refrigerated storage lockers; a 24-hour doorman service; and a lobby café shop.

Honoring the neighborhood’s roots and pending city approvals, The Factory at WSS will preserve the two facades of an original factory from 1911, including a historic living quarter for factory workers. As a part of the project’s second phase, The Factory at WSS will add 357 units across 300,000 square feet, including 36 affordable housing units.

The project, which is a fusion of public and private spaces, is located within walking distance of the Journal Square PATH station for quick access to Manhattan and the greater tristate area. West Side Square is slated for completion in September 2026, with leasing beginning in spring 2026.
