AMLI Residential has broken ground on its first project in the San Diego market. AMLI Aero is one of the first luxury rental developments to kick off construction as part of Kearny Mesa’s 2020 redevelopment plan, which aims to transform the primarily industrial neighborhood into an urban center.
At the corner of Aero Drive and Aero Court, the new 434-unit, seven-story project will offer studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans, including two-story options on top floors and live-work floor plans on the ground floor, ranging from 576 to 1,602 square feet.

Slated for completion in May 2025, AMLI Aero’s luxury apartments will feature contemporary interior finishes, including quartz countertops, porcelain backsplashes, stainless steel Samsung appliances, custom kitchen cabinetry with integrated lighting, and Moen kitchen and bath fixtures. Residents will also enjoy smart-home technology such as Latch door hardware and Nest thermostats.
KPRS will serve as general contractor of the project along with Architects Orange as architect, Parisi Portfolio as interior designer, and Urban Arena as landscape architect. Preleasing is expected to begin in December 2024.
AMLI owns and manages 80 apartment communities encompassing approximately 27,000 apartment homes and has over 2,500 additional apartment homes under development at six locations. AMLI owns seven apartment communities in Southern California with over 2,500 apartments.
