Indianapolis-based Buckingham Cos. has made its first move into the Nashville, Tenn., multifamily and retail market with the opening of Aertson Midtown. The mixed-use community is named for its spot in Nashville’s bustling Midtown district, next to the Vanderbilt University campus, and for Jan Aertson, the great-great-grandfather of Cornelius Vanderbilt.
The Residences at Aertson Midtown contain 350 units comprising 24 studios, 215 one-bedrooms, 99 two-bedrooms, and 12 three-bedrooms ranging from $1,800 to $5,500 per month.
The community’s main commercial anchor is the Kimpton Aertson Hotel, which contains 180 guest rooms and suites. A gourmet grocery, Caviar & Bananas, and Henley, Kimpton Aertson’s associated restaurant, are now open. The Woodhouse Day Spa and nada, a Mexican restaurant, are scheduled to open in the fall, with The Ainsley, an upscale sports bar, following later.
Many of the property’s services are shared in common between the residences and the hotel, including Henley’s 24-hour in-room dining service, a rooftop pool with views of Vanderbilt University, valet parking, dry cleaning and a laundry service, and a 24-hour fitness center. Additional residential amenities include bicycle storage and repair, a dog park, and a dog wash station.
Aertson Midtown aims to distinguish itself with amenity offerings not commonly seen in the Nashville area, and with retail that enhances the surrounding area and increases its walkability. “The opening of the Aertson Midtown residences is the culmination of the dedication, insights, and collaboration of many talented individuals,” said Scott Travis, senior vice president of development at Buckingham Cos, in a statement. “We’re pleased to see our own enthusiasm for this project reflected in the Nashville community, and are excited to share this milestone with those who have been patiently waiting for a mixed-use community of this caliber.”
