

Greystar Picks Senior Director
Tracy Bowers, a multifamily industry veteran, was named the senior director of real estate for Charlotte, N.C.-based Greystar Real Estate Partners. She joins Greystar after serving as vice president of investment for The Worthing Cos.
Throughout her 20 years of experience, she helped build a presence in competitive markets including Atlanta, Houston, and Charlotte. She also brings a knowledge of managing new development deals for high-end, lease-up communities. While operating out of Greystar's Atlanta offi ce, Bowers will oversee Georgia regional property managers, while also focusing on new business development.
NY Company NewOak Appoints New Chairman
NewOak Capital has appointed Shad Quraishi as vice chairman and head of business development and strategy. Before his appointment, Quraishi was the joint head of UBS Distressed Real Estate Workout Group. While with UBS, he was responsible for the distribution and structured solutions for more than $80 billion of distressed assets. He also co-ran the U.S., European, and Asian assetbacked fi nance units and was instrumental in creating the $15 billion BlackRock transaction to help banks de-risk their assets.
As vice chairman, he will be in charge of coordinating all client development eff orts, capital raising, and distribution of risk on structured solutions. He will also join the company's executive committee.
M. Kaplan Hires Operations VP
Multifamily fi rm M. Kaplan Cos. in Houston named Michelle R. Rhone as its new vice president of operations. With experience in fi nance, marketing, and analytics, Rhone will be responsible for fi eld supervision of all assets and personnel and client development and expansion. She will also serve as liason to clients, investors, and equity partners.
Before joining M. Kaplan, she was vice president of business development at Asset Plus Corp., where she helped establish the company's presence throughout Texas, Colorado and Louisiana. Prior to working at Asset Plus, she supervised 1,400 residential and commercial properties for Pinnacle Management.
