WinnCompanies, a Boston-based multifamily developer and manager, has named Patrick Appleby, president of the company’s WinnResidential Military Housing Services division, or WinnMilitary, the new president of the parent firm's WinnResidential division.
According to WinnCompanies, Appleby’s appointment is part of an ongoing effort to integrate the operations and organizational structure of WinnResidential and WinnMilitary. “Both WinnResidential and WinnResidential Military Housing Services have benefited from working together more closely to share best practices on training, marketing, maintenance, and technology,” said Gilbert Winn, CEO of WinnCompanies, in a release. “Under Patrick’s leadership, we expect that effort to accelerate to benefit our clients, residents, and team members.”
Appleby has worked for WinnCompanies since 1999. Over the past 16 years, he has been in charge of the WinnMilitary/Lendlease portfolio of more than 40,000 homes, which are managed for members and families of the U.S. Armed Forces. Appleby will now assume leadership and oversight of all of WinnResidential’s property management operations, which cover both residential and military housing assets, for a total of 100,000 units across 580 communities nationwide.
Appleby previously served as vice president of Boston Financial Group, where he had collaborated with WinnCompanies for many years. He has also served on the Military Housing Committee of the National Apartment Association (NAA) since its creation, and on the NAA’s Apartment Careers Committee.
“My goal is to advance the company’s mission of property management excellence in a highly competitive and dynamic market,” said Appleby. “Our people are the source of our success, and I am proud to lead them. A focus on our people and communication, on exceeding the expectations of our clients and residents, and on operational efficiency will be key elements going forward.”
