While 2020 has brought its share of challenges to the multifamily industry, Apartments.com is using its platform to show its appreciation as well as give back to important causes during the month of November through its “ThanksGifting” initiative.
Throughout the month, it has been giving away daily prizes, such as gift cards, MIRROR home gyms, and AirPods, for client partners and community members, rewarding 10 multifamily communities with Thanksgiving meals for on-site teams, and providing 10 $1,000 gift cards for communities to host resident appreciation events.
In addition, Apartments.com is capping off its ThanksGifting initiative by donated $30,000 to charities dedicated to supporting individuals in need. Each of the following organizations will receive a $10,000 donation:
- Hatching Hope: A 501 (c)(3) disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization based in Alabaster, Alabama, that supports residents who have been displaced from their apartments due to fire or other disasters.
- Move for Hunger: A 501(c)3 nonprofit, based in Red Bank, New Jersey, that mobilizes the relocation industry to reduce food waste and fight hunger. The nonprofit works with more than 1,500 multifamily communities nationwide so that nonperishables aren’t wasted during apartment moves and instead helps provide meals to individuals in need.
- Shelters to Shutters: A national 501(c)3 nonprofit, based in Vienna, Virginia, that transitions individuals and families out of homelessness to economic self-sufficiency by educating and engaging the real estate industry to provide employment and housing opportunities.
“During this Thanksgiving season, Apartments.com is showing our gratitude to apartment residents, on-site teams, and to those in need of food, shelter, and simple moments of joy,” said Marcia Bollinger, senior vice president of multifamily marketing. “These donations are just one small way that we can pay it forward, show some goodwill, and recognize these organizations that are dedicated to making a positive impact in the multifamily space. In a year that has been anything but ordinary and presented unique challenges in our industry, we hope ‘ThanksGifting’ puts a spotlight on the power of coming together as a community and doing some good.”
