The technology-centric firm aims to create smooth move-in and move-out experiences and customized resident services. Melissa Deen, president of CloudTen Residential, shares more on what’s next below.

What made the merger with G&W ideal?

The cultures of both companies were closely aligned, rooted in a shared belief that people—especially our team members—are the foundation of everything we do. Both organizations prioritize creating supportive, values-driven environments where employees feel empowered, respected, and motivated. This alignment was critical, because when we hire the right individuals and invest in their growth and well-being, they in turn bring their best selves to work. That care and commitment naturally extend to how they engage with our residents and clients. In essence, by taking care of our people, we ensure they can take exceptional care of others.

How will CloudTen expand its offerings in the Reno area?

Our recent focus has been on effectively onboarding and training our new team members, and we’re proud to have built a strong, integrated team as a result. We’ve seen the success of this effort through multiple internal promotions, and we’re now well-positioned to pursue further growth in the Reno and Carson City markets. Our expertise spans property repositioning, new construction lease-ups, and optimizing performance at stabilized communities—allowing us to deliver results across all phases of a property’s life cycle.

What are three goals for the newly expanded company?

  1. Continued training and development of our team members focusing on industry best practices in a quickly changing technology environment as well as soft skills to improve leadership capacity.
  2. Starting to offer positive credit reporting for our residents to help them improve their credit.
  3. Moving our property inspections online to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This will allow us to manage the physical components of our properties more proactively and better serve residents and investors.

Are there any immediate strategies CloudTen aiming to execute by end of year?

We recently implemented a more robust digital recognition platform that empowers team members to celebrate each other’s contributions by awarding points redeemable for gifts, travel, and time off. This has helped foster a stronger culture of appreciation and engagement. Additionally, we continue to expand our technology toolkit to enhance communication with team members, prospects, and residents—incorporating text messaging and AI-powered chat alongside our traditional channels to make interactions more seamless and responsive.

How will G&W properties benefit from CloudTen’s tech platform?

The introduction of enhanced technology has already delivered clear benefits to both our team members and residents. Residents can now conveniently submit rent payments and maintenance requests online, while our team can communicate in real time through a messaging app that streamlines updates and service notes. By leveraging a robust, fully integrated property management platform, we’ve significantly reduced administrative tasks—freeing up our team to focus more on providing exceptional service to our residents.
