CityView, an investment management and development firm focused on urban multifamily real estate in the West and Southwest, has announced that George L. Ochs has joined the firm as senior vice president and head of investor relations. Ochs will be responsible for continuing to develop and expand CityView’s relationships with the institutional investor community.

“We could not be more fortunate to attract someone of George’s caliber to the CityView team,” said Sean Burton, CEO of CityView, in a press release. “George will be instrumental in strengthening our existing relationships with pension funds, insurance companies, and other institutional investors, and will work to significantly broaden this base through his network of contacts and experience. This is an opportune time for George to be joining us, as there is increasing interest from institutions looking to invest in the multifamily real estate asset class.”

Before joining CityView, Ochs was a managing director at JPMorgan Asset Management, where he worked in real estate portfolio management, client relationship management, and business development across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East for almost 20 years. Before JPMorgan, Ochs was a senior vice president at Prudential Financial, where he managed the redevelopment of the Prudential Center in Boston. Ochs holds an executive master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. He will be based in CityView’s Los Angeles headquarters.

“CityView is one of the most active multifamily developers working in densely populated areas on the West coast, Colorado, and Texas,” said Ochs. “They have an uncanny ability to source attractive investment opportunities while working closely with the local communities to ensure that each project not only provides much needed housing, but also serves to enhance the neighborhood. I am very excited to join such a successful, dynamic team and be integral to introducing them to a much wider investor base across the U.S.”
