Vice president for sustainability at AMLI Residential, Erin Hatcher has overseen, managed, or assisted in over 50 LEED projects varying in size from 9,000 square feet to more than 500,000 square feet, including high-rise, retail, health-care, educational, office, and campus developments. Prior to joining AMLI in 2012, Erin worked as a sustainability consultant in Chicago focusing on LEED for New Construction projects. She received her BFA in interior design from the Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago, and is a LEED Accredited Professional and a certified Construction Documents Technologist.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 36 U.S. states are at risk for water shortages even without the threat of drought. Developers cope with the issue in part by building to green certification standards that include water conservation efforts.
