Jonathan Holtzman has been regarded as a real estate visionary. But a recent story by Kirk Pinho shows another side of Village Green's former CEO:

Holtzman, 61, is viewed as someone who has a first-rate real estate mind but also a quick temper and not much of a filter, according to discussions with former employees and real estate sources who have worked with and for him. Many also say [however] his exacting expectations made them better and guided them toward success.

There were also issues with Compatriot Capital out of Dallas, which first bought a stake in Village Green in 2011, according to Pinho:

Three or four years ago, Compatriot considered ousting [Holtzman] because of his behavior.
