What do you do after sponsoring a $20,000 resident e-payment
sweepstakes to promote electronic rent payments across hundreds of
multifamily properties? Up the ante to $50,000 grand for another round,
of course. Flushed with last year's success, Oakland, Calif.-based
electonic payments firm PropertyBridge just launched its 2009 Community Contest,
a marketing promotion for property managers that runs from February
thru April 30, 2009. Over the course of the contest, more than 1,000
participating communities will compete against their peers to increase
electronic payment transactions on the PropertyBridge
system. Qualifying transactions include resident payments using
credit/debit cards, ACH, check-scanning, and cash payments at MoneyGram
agent locations. Participating properties in the 2008 contest saw an
average increase in electronic payments adoption of 41 percent.
